  • Name That Color App

One of those “cool tools that i’ll rarely use”: Chirag Mehta built an app “where you can create a color on the screen (or copy-paste CSS hex# color) and find out the name of the closest matching color.” [ via Andy Skelton ]

  • CommandShift3 - CommandShift3 is like Hot or Not. “Except, instead of clicking on hot babes, you click on hot websites.” [ via Simplebits ]

At the very least it’s a gateway to 53 sites you might want to add to your reading list.

How To Destroy The Web 2.0 Look

Not my words, but “How To Destroy The Web 2.0 Look” is a design tutorial to get away from current sites, to give sites personality again. I’m not posting this because I completely agree with the author - on the fact that all web 2.0 sites look the same (and if they do, that this is a bad thing) but sites with personality are certainly are not bad things. Bookmarking for more in-depth review later.

Some great icons and wallpaper “devkits” I especially like the Button Devkit.
